Brief Life History of William Cox Smithson

When William Cox Smithson was born on 30 March 1804, in Pendleton, Pendleton, South Carolina, his father, James Bartlett Smithson, was 37 and his mother, Sarah "Sally" Weatherford, was 23. He married Lucinda Wilson on 16 February 1831, in Pendleton, South Carolina. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters. He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1847 and lived in Utah, Utah in 1850 and Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California in 1852. He died on 2 March 1889, in Washington, Washington, Utah, at the age of 84, and was buried in Washington City Cemetery, Washington, Washington, Utah. (source: FamilySearch.org)
